It’s that time of year known as the ‘Spring shuffle’.  Trays and pots move from the greenhouse to beds in the polytunnel or to the outside tables.  In an ideal world, there would be a cold frame intermediate stage but plants have to grow up tough around these parts – and there aren’t enough hours in the day for that level of faff.

You’ll note a HUGE number of tomato plants.  No, I haven’t won a contract with Heinz, this is for London Plot market operations starting at the end of this month.  Phase two is making the paper pots for them to grow on.  The UG doesn’t know it yet, but he’s about to be conscripted…

Many of the seedlings are too tiny to brave the outdoors just yet, so no more seed sowing for a while…
