The rhubarb is slowing down but the french beans are now leading the glut; they’ll end up being pickled at this rate!
This is the first calabrese planted in the open. I never used to bother with summer plantings but then I discovered how delicious these are when cooked as tiny florets until al dente, refreshed in cold water and mixed in a green salad. The beans will also be featuring in the salads.

and they are much sweeter than the green variety
