I have to keep reminding myself that we are just about to enter the second week of April. The tulips are almost over – with the exception of red Appeldoorn who is the tortoise in this particular race. Queen of the Night opened yesterday. I’m pleased with the colour and shape combinations.
The cherry blossom has suddenly arrived. I’m certain the tree was bare at the beginning of this week. The sky has been so blue and cloudless and the blossom so white, that I just had to lie on the grass for this shot.
Lovely. It’s always good to see both. Cherry blossom looks so much better with a blue sky background. xx
The tree may look less lovely when wearing its bespoke debris netting sleeves to protect the fruit!
Gorgeous blossom and tulips! My pear tree is only just beginning its blossom, along with my little pot of tulips. Nowhere near as beautiful as your show though 🌸🌹🌷
Thank you 🙂 Give it a few days of mild weather. I’ve been really surprised at the speed tightly held buds have burst open into full bloom – no hanging about this year.
Yes they are simply glorious! 😍
My first tulips just opened, as well as the first primroses, and muscari. The mid-daffodils are gorgeous. British Gamble is my favorite…huge and beautiful with strong enough stems to hold up in our wind and rains, rains, rains, rains…..have I mentioned that it has rained nearly every day for almost 3 weeks?!?
Post some pictures of those tulips. Isn’t it great that plants keep doing their thing, despite the weather. We’ve not had any significant rainfall for about 3 weeks and for a British gardener that almost qualifies as a drought!
