The allotment cutting patch is up to speed. I’m hopeful this is the first of many armfuls of flowers I bring home from the plot.

I’m not usually drawn to bubble-gum pink. There are two peony varieties here, one I think is mislabelled as I’d expect Sarah Bernhardt to be a much softer pink. The other smaller buds are Eden’s Promise. I’m not sure what the promise is, there’s little perfume unless it is the centre revealing golden stamens.

The peonies are joined by delphiniums, foxgloves, alchemilla mollis and super tall antirrihnums who over-wintered, hoping for more favourable growing conditions. There are several stems of toadflax (Linaria purpurea, Canon J Went) who has happily self-seeded. These stems are in bud, hoping to limit future generations…

I’ve been on a mission to use more foliage and here we have some bady blue eucalytus, grown from seed and asparagus fern – evidence I’m growing more asparagus than I can eat!

The vase is arranged to sit against the chimney breast in the living room – here are the side views

And in its designated spot. I moved one of the (not) Sarah Bernhardt peonies to fill the front gap. I like the way the pink pops against the rest of the more restrained colour palette.

Thanks to Cathy for hosting and sharing her creations. Ramble over to be inspired.
