This geum came with the house. It’s orange, not a colour I am naturally drawn to but a plant is a plant! I lifted, divided, potted on then planted out six new plants and they have romped away. I have done a bit of editing to stop them from dominating but I am a fan.

There are so many flowers on each plant, it’s possible to see the life cycle of each blossom from bud to seed head.

I love how the tones change from almost florescent to a much more subtle deeper shade. The overall combination makes it a real doer in the garden. The bees and other insects also appreciate the abundance of early flowers.

I purchased a bare-rooted geum Mai Tai, recently moved to the growing on shelf. She has a lot of competition!
