I have to confess this vase was collected and arranged last Wednesday – when the peonies are ready, they don’t wait!
I’ve included some self sown foxgloves and nigella with some alchemilla mollis who really seems to have hit her stride. The peonies are the white Duchesse Nemoirs and the pink Sarah Bernhardt.
This is the same vase in the living room a few days later; the waft of perfume is lovely.

Remember to visit Cathy’s page to see the other vases. Have a good week.

Lovely bouquet. You are so right about peonies – I have some pink ones (unknown variety – they came with the house) that opened blossoms on Thursday, and were done by Sunday. They were absolutely gorgeous…
Oh isn’t that lovely?! It is such a treat to use the ‘first cuttings’ isn’t it? I am so enjoying nigella here this year, as I sowed early and have got some decent-sized bushy plants, whereas I have always struggled before – I had forgotten how tactile they were
Thanks Cathy I haven’t sown any Nigella since 2016 – it takes self sown to new levels:) Young plants are green manure!
Oh wow, I hope mine self seeds as well as that! I have a soft pink (Mulberry Rose, as well as a blue variety)
