Two weeks holiday away from the plot in mid June was poor planning – but a fantastic time nonetheless. More of London Plot travels soon.
I arrived at the plot on Saturday to find the bindweed making a bid for world domination and slug chewed dahlias but on the up-side, the most amazing armfuls of roses, fat stems of red rhubarb, first earlies just ready and raspberries waiting to be sampled.
I heard about the biblical quality thunderstorms and rain but the plot seems pretty much unscathed – I hope those affected are now recovering.

Looking good, well done. I’ve harvested the same, but it’s been my worse year yet in the ten that I’ve had the plot. xx
It’s been a slug fest and the bindweed is rampant, which makes getting young plants established a time consuming task. And that’s just since the weather warmed up!
Those roses look beautiful! I must plant some on my allotment – don’t have any flowers yet, just weeds and veggies (but I’ve only had the allotment for a few months). Tried for years to get one when we lived in London (Borough of Lambeth), so really excited to have our own plot now we’re in the country!

Thanks Stormy. I must say I’m really pleased with the flowery part of the plot.
